Looking for the treasure

Think about this for a moment. Where is your treasure?  Is it in your property, your assets, your career or your talents? The issue is that our treasure will receive the attention of our hearts and minds and this is reserved for God.

Luke 12:34 Wherever your treasure is, there your heart and thoughts will also be.
Matthew 19:21-22 Jesus told him, “If you want to be perfect, go and sell everything you have and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.” But when the young man heard this, he went away sadly, for he was very rich.

Eternal treasure is real treasure. Everything else must be left behind when we die.
We need to get to the point where we desire the treasure that God is offering us more than anything else. We must settle for nothing less.

The stormy cloudsMatthew 13:44 The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure a man discovered in a field. In his excitement, he sold everything he owned to get enough money to buy the field—and get the treasure, too!

What will we do to take hold of the treasure that God has for us?  It needs to become the pursuit of our lives and our hearts.  It needs to become the object of our fascination.
