HIS REIGN AFFECTS EVERY ASPECT OF OUR LIVES.
There is no aspect that it excluded. His reign pervades every aspect of life. In the United Kingdom we see how pervasive the reign of the monarch is. It is her government, her parliament and her courts. When she speaks of the government she says ‘my government’. There is no aspect of our lives that is excluded from His reign. Even the things done in ‘darkness’ are visible to Him. Every aspect of our lives, including the number of our days, is subject to His reign.
Psalm 31:15 ‘My times are in your hands.’
Job wrote about this aspect…
Job 14:5 ‘You have decided the length of our lives. You know how many months we will live, and we are not given a minute longer.’ (New Living Translation)
Psalm 139:1-3 ‘You have searched me, LORD, and You know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; You perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; You are familiar with all my ways.’
We can never escape this reality.
Psalm 139:7-10 ‘Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.’
