I believe we all desire to know the ‘Hand of God’ in our lives. When we speak about THE HAND OF GOD we are speaking about two things.

1. His involvement in our lives.

2. His physical help and strength to see us through.

I have discovered how much I need this in my life. In a sense I want to you and I to take hold of God’s hand today. To reach out and place our hand in His hand so that we can receive whatever it is that we need for life. There was an old song with the following words:

Put your hand in the hand of the Man who stilled the waters.

Put your hand in the hand of the man who calmed the sea.

Take a look at yourself and you look at others differently.

By putting your hand in the hand of the man from Galilee.

We need to take hold of God’s hand and place our hand in His hand today!

One of the best loved stories in the New Testament is the story about Peter and how he got out of the boat and walked on the water. Take a look at this amazing story by reading Matthew 14:22-32.
Just note how when Peter began to sink, he cried out to Jesus and he said: ‘LORD SAVE ME!’ Perhaps you have felt like that at times? Look at Jesus’ response – Instantly Jesus reached out His hand and CAUGHT and HELD him! Jesus took his and held him. In our sinking moments this is just what God wants to do for us!
We can reach out to God and take hold of His hand. He is ready to take us by the hand and He is ready to take hold of us. We may feel abandoned but in the critical moment when we call His hand will be within reach! Look how long the disciples spent battling the storm before Jesus arrived to save them. His timing is always impeccable. Sometimes even when we are in the perfect will of God, we still need His hand!

Psalm 144:7 Stretch forth Your hand from above; rescue me and deliver me out of great waters.
