God and fear cannot co-exist.
1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear.
When God is near to us, fear has to leave. God wants to be with us so that we do not need to fear.
Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.
God wants to be our source of strength. We can feel confident in God.
WE SHOULD ONLY FEAR GOD
Matthew 10:28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Remember, that this is Jesus speaking. He tells us not to fear those who can destroy our bodies. If we are going to fear, we should rather fear God. The fear of man and what man can do to us is a dominant fear in society. And the fear of God seems to declining. This is dangerous and should not be the case.
