When we get to this point we need to listen to God. When God started to work in my life He told me He was going to change my heart. I did not think that there was anything wrong with my heart. I thought God would just mightily touch me, I never thought he was going to touch and change me. As strange as it seems, let God work in your life and don’t fight it but obey what God tells you to do! Here comes the instruction.
2 Kings 2:3 “Then borrow many pots and pans from your friends and neighbors!” he instructed.
We must do what God tells us to do no matter what. We may feel that it looks stupid or odd, but we must obey God. This must have seemed like a strange instruction for a widow who had nothing. Sometimes when God speaks we don’t understand because we cannot see the end result, but He sees it completely.
WHEN GOD WORKS IT IS DEEP WITHIN US FIRST
The miracle that God has in store for us usually starts deep within us.
2 Kings 4:4 “Go into your house with your sons and shut the door behind you. Then pour olive oil from your jar into the pots and pans, setting them aside as they are filled!”
When God started to work in my heart it was a deep work deep within my own heart in the secret place. God wants to work deep within you. Today is no different. We must allow God to work within us. Give yourself to Him as often as you can. Let Him work within you. Then came the time of testing. It must have seemed like a ridiculous instruction. Why pour the little you have into many larger empty containers? Would they take to heart what had been told to them within the privacy of their own home and hearts? The Lord wants these issues to be settled in the privacy of our own hearts before He allows the miracle to come into the public gaze.
