We know that God is mighty and we know that He is powerful, but we still need to get to the point where we let Him into our lives. In a sense we need to open up the gates and doors of our lives and let Him in. This is not a once off action, but it needs to be an on-going and continual process within our hearts.
Psalm 24:7-9 Open up, O ancient gates, and let the King of Glory in. Who is this King of Glory? The Lord, strong and mighty, invincible in battle. Yes, open wide the gates and let the King of Glory in.
Revelation 3:20 Look! I have been standing at the door, and I am constantly knocking. If anyone hears me calling him and opens the door, I will come in and fellowship with him and he with me.
Because of the fact that God is mighty, you and I can have confidence in Him.
Psalm 27:3 Yes, though a mighty army marches against me, my heart shall know no fear! I am confident that God will save me.
Psalm 93:4 Mightier than the thunder of the great waters, mightier than the breakers of the sea— the LORD on high is mighty.
We can have confidence in the mighty one. We can have a firm trust, an assured expectation, and a boldness to expect that God is able to move in our situation and circumstances, even if all the signs tell us a different story. We serve a mighty God.
Psalm 98:1 Sing a new song to the Lord telling about his mighty deeds! For he has won a mighty victory by his power and holiness.
