We give attention to what we concentrate on

An example is a musician.  Most musicians are mediocre because they do not have the time to concentrate and give attention to this aspect of their lives.  To be a successful musician takes time, study and hours of practice.  They must give themselves completely to music and concentrate on this aspect.  Other things, however, take their time and demand attention.
Sometimes we as Christians think like this: ‘If I give attention to my spiritual life for two hours on a Sunday, then I will grow’. But we need to realise that it is only as we give attention and concentrate on this aspect that we will grow. It calls for a lifestyle.
