LET GOD’S WORD GUIDE YOU
Life is full of decisions and choices, but the Word of God keeps our path clear. When things feel confusing, the Bible is your anchor, and it brings you back to truth when opinions are swirling around you. Many people complicate life by relying on feelings, trends, or the next new idea. Return to the Scriptures daily and they will remove confusion and guard your steps.
Psalm 119:105 ‘Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.’
GUARD YOUR HEART AND MIND
Your mind is a gate. What you allow in will shape your thoughts, words and actions. Be careful what you watch, the voices you follow on social media, the music you listen to, and the conversations you entertain. These subtle influences can overcomplicate your faith, fill your heart with clutter, and distract you from the simplicity God intends. Do an honest check: What am I allowing into my mind? Keep your thoughts pure and your heart clean, this protects your walk with the Lord.
Proverbs 4:23 ‘Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.’
Luke 6:45 ‘A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.’
2 Corinthians 11:3 ‘But I am afraid, lest by any means, as the serpent in his craftiness deceived Eve, your minds might be corrupted from the simplicity and the purity in Christ.’
Keep things simple and take care of what really matters, your heart and your mind.
OBEDIENCE IN THE SMALL THINGS
Years ago, I was introduced to a statement that says: ‘Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves.’ The implication is that if we will take care of the small things, then the big things will take care of themselves. Keeping life simple often comes down to daily, small acts of obedience. Say yes when the Holy Spirit nudges you to forgive, to encourage someone, to close your mouth instead of speaking harshly, or to choose honesty when a lie would be easier. These small decisions keep your life uncluttered with regret and compromise. Simple obedience today builds strength for bigger steps tomorrow.
Song of Solomon 2:15 ‘Catch the foxes for us, the little foxes that spoil the vineyards, for our vineyards are in blossom.’
Beware of the ‘little foxes.’
